The Costumes for Drama To The Max are very simple. Due to our documentary taking place at a school, and because of the realistic nature of the film, the costumes are the school’s uniform, which in this particular case, is smart office wear. Max’s standard outfit is complete with red neck tie, white shirt, jacket and smart black shoes. The other characters are dressed slightly less formally than Max. This lead to a useful bit of Non-Verbal Communication (NVC) due to the connotations of the slightly less formal wear. The audience could assume certain characterises about the character due to their clothing, and how it differs from Max’s. By dressing Max in decent formal wear, the audience could instantly see Max as a more authority and professional figure, especially when compared to the other characters in ‘scruffier’ clothing. Their costumes are suggestive of more childish qualities, as well as perhaps a more rebellious attitude by not confining to school’s uniform regulations.

Props
To remain as realistic and authentic as possible, we didn't use any props in our documentary, having said that, the mise-en-scene and real objects seen within the framing of the shots bears connotations that further the audiences understanding of the narrative. The following is a single frame from our documentary in which a variety of mise-en-scene pieces are, through no construction on our half, worked as effective indicators.

Scheduling Shooting
Rehearsal Schedule for There Is A War
Above is the rehearsal plan for the school production of There Is A War, in which Max is a main character. This provided me with a base frame to create a shooting schedule around. I then attended three out of the four rehearsal in order to capture the necessary footage required for the opening of me documentary. Attending multiple rehearsals was very useful because I was able to witness the progression and development of the production. I shot a great deal of footage including: the constructing of the stage; actors running lines; notes from the director and actual live performances from the cast and Max.

Keeping Connected
As a group, we mostly keep in contact through Apple's iMessage app. This was great because it was incredibly reliable as well as allow us to send each other photos and videos. For example, the ability to send each other photos of the shooting and rehearsal schedules. Both, for us iMessage was a very accessible software as it is available on all Apple products including MacBooks, iPhones and iPads.
